MacBook Neo vs Windows Laptops at ৳90,000: Which Is Better in Bangladesh?

Last updated: October 2026 · By ByteBliss

If your budget is around ৳75,000 to ৳90,000, you're choosing between two very different laptops. The MacBook Neo 256GB price in Bangladesh is ৳88,499, and for a little less you can buy a Windows laptop with a bigger 15.6-inch screen. This guide compares them on what actually matters day to day, so you can choose with confidence.

What Your Money Buys

On paper, Windows laptops give you more storage and a bigger screen for less money. The MacBook Neo wins on things a spec sheet doesn't show well.

Battery Life and Weight

The MacBook Neo is rated for up to 16 hours of video streaming and 11 hours of web browsing, and it weighs 1.23 kg. Budget 15.6-inch Windows laptops are larger and usually heavier, and most won't match that battery life on everyday use. If you carry your laptop all day or work through load-shedding, this is the MacBook Neo's biggest advantage.

Build, Screen and Feel

The MacBook Neo has an aluminum body and a sharp 2408 × 1506 Liquid Retina display at 500 nits. Laptops at this price on the Windows side usually use plastic bodies and Full HD screens. In exchange, Windows laptops give you a larger 15.6-inch screen, which some people prefer for spreadsheets and side-by-side windows. The MacBook Neo's keyboard isn't backlit, so check that the Windows model you compare has one if that matters to you.

Software: macOS vs Windows

• Office, browsing and video calls: both platforms run Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom and Teams.
• Creative apps: Figma, Canva and Adobe apps run on both.
• Specialist software: some engineering, accounting and government programs only run on Windows. Check before you buy.
• iPhone users: AirDrop, iMessage, iCloud Photos and copy-paste between devices work seamlessly only on a Mac.

Gaming

Neither choice in this budget is a gaming laptop. The MacBook Neo runs casual and lighter games from the Mac App Store, but many popular PC games are Windows-only. If gaming is a priority, you'll need a gaming laptop such as the ASUS TUF range, which costs more. Browse Asus laptops to compare.

Resale Value and Lifespan

MacBooks generally hold their value well in Bangladesh's used market, and Apple supports its Macs with macOS updates for years. Budget Windows laptops tend to lose value faster. If you plan to sell or upgrade in two or three years, this can narrow the real price gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a MacBook Neo better than a Windows laptop for ৳90,000?

It's better for battery life, build quality, portability and iPhone users. A Windows laptop is better if you need Windows-only software, a bigger screen or more storage for less money.

Why does a Windows laptop give more storage for less money?

Budget Windows laptops often include a 512GB SSD at around ৳73,000–৳75,000, while the MacBook Neo starts with 256GB at ৳88,499. You pay more for the Mac's aluminum build, display, battery life and software.

Can the MacBook Neo run Windows software?

Not directly. Many popular programs have Mac versions, but Windows-only software, including some engineering and accounting tools, won't install on macOS. Check your required apps before buying.

MacBooks generally hold their resale value better in Bangladesh than budget Windows laptops, which can make the MacBook Neo better value over a few years.
